Dr Matthew Damasiewicz

MBBS FRACP (Nephrology) PhD

Dr Damasiewicz is a Consultant Nephrologist at Monash Health and Cabrini Hospital.

He obtained his medical degree from the University of Melbourne (MBBS) in 2002. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2010, after completing his Specialist physician training at St Vincent’s Hospital, Monash Medical Centre and the Austin Hospital in Melbourne. He completed a PhD in the field of disordered mineral metabolism in chronic kidney disease at Monash University in 2017.
Matthew founded Springvale Nephrology in 2014.  His main hospital appointment is at Monash Health, where he consults in the general nephrology, dialysis, transplant and renal supportive care clinics. He is also involved in the management of transplant and general nephrology inpatients, as well as the supervision of the patients undergoing maintenance satellite haemodialysis.
Matthew is involved in academic Nephrology.  His research has been presented at national and international meetings; and published in numerous peer-reviewed journals. He is also a supervisor of advanced trainees in Nephrology and continues to be involved in numerous clinical trials and research through Monash Health. In addition to English, Matthew speaks fluent conversational Polish.
